Step 3 - Assessments and Surveys

A site assessment and staff survey will provide the baseline data needed for the Travel Plan and give a statistical breakdown of current travel patterns.

A site assessment is an overview of transport links to the site and the facilities provided for these.

 The following should be considered:

  • How many staff and visitors come onto the site every day
  • The size of the car park and any existing parking problems
  • Any identified traffic problems around the site
  • The number, condition and signage of any walking or cycling routes from residential areas, bus stops, rail stations and car parks
  • The local bus and train services, the providers and cost of tickets
