News - Bike the Bay

18th May 2011

A family friendly bike ride along the lovely Cardiff Bay Trail followed by a fun filled spring fete in the newly refurbished Norwegian Church Arts Centre

On Sunday 22nd May 2011 betwee 11am and 4pm join Sustrans and partners for a fun filled family day out collecting Fresh Air Miles on your bike to celebrate Pont-Y-Werin bridging the gap between Cardiff and the Vale!

The ride will start at 11am at the Norwegian Church and follow the mainly traffic-free 10km trail around the Bay. You can also start the ride at Pont y Werin (the Sustrans Connect2 bridge at Penarth Marina) at 11.30.

Finishing full circle at the Church, we will continue the celebrations into the afternoon with plenty of fabulous activities and entertainment sure to keep your little ones busy while you treat yourself to a well-deserved cup of tea and a delicious slice of cake!

If you want to join ‘Bike the Bay’ register in advanced by emailing bikethebay@sustrans.org.uk  with full names of everyone in your party and your starting point.

New to cycling or don’t have access to a bike? If you haven’t got a bike but would like to take part in the ride local charity Pedal Power will be offering bike hire for all ages. Bikes will be delivered directly to you at the Norwegian Church. Contact Pedal Power to pre-order your bike.

Alternatively OYBike, who run the Cardiff bike hire scheme, have a rental station at Cardiff International White Water. Find out more: www.sustrans.org.uk/bikethebay
