News - Enjoy days out on the Beacons bus

With this year's seasonal Beacons Bus set to begin Bridgend County Borough Council is inviting local people to enjoy a day trip to Wales' world famous national park

Between Sunday 3 June and Sunday 30 September 2012, the Beacons Bus service will offer passengers a chance to enjoy regular Sunday and Bank Holiday trips up to the town of Brecon.

As well as providing access to some of the most beautiful locations in Wales, the trips will allow passengers to enjoy a variety of attractions before bringing them home again in the early evening.

With free concessionary bus passes valid on all of the Beacon Bus trips, two different services will be available, both run by New Adventure Travel Ltd.

From Sunday 3 June, service number B2 will depart from Nottage (Picton Court) at 8:18am, Porthcawl (John Street, stand number one) at 8:29am, Newton (the Globe Inn) at 8:35am, Laleston (the Mackworth Arms) at 8:46am. It will then depart from Bridgend Bus Station (stand number nine) at 9am, operating via Brackla (Brackla Way) at 9:05am and Coychurch at 9:10am, arriving at Brecon Interchange at 10:55am.

The return journey will depart from Brecon Interchange (stand number three) at 5.30pm and arrive at Bridgend Bus Station at 7.20pm. If requested, it will operate from there to Nottage.

Service number B3 will depart from Bridgend Bus Station (stand number 10) at 9:10am, operating via McArthur Glen (Odeon Cinema) at 9:22am, Blackmill (Post Office) at 9:35am, Ogmore Vale (Cwrt Gwalia) at 9:41am and Nantymoel (Berwyn Centre) at 9:45am, arriving at Brecon Interchange at 10:55am.

The return journey will depart from Brecon Interchange (stand number two) at 5:30pm, arriving at Bridgend Bus Station at 7:10pm.

Free concessionary bus passes are valid on all of the Beacons Bus services and timetables will be available on request at Bridgend Bus Station from mid-May.

The Beacons Bus service is being provided by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority and Bridgend County Borough Council.
