News - More buses from Monmouth to Newport

28th April 2010

From next month an enhanced bus service will benefit people in rural areas of Monmouthshire and improve links in the heart of the county

The number 60 Monmouth to Newport service currently runs every two hours but from May 17th its frequency will be increased to approximately once an hour.

The service, subsidised by Monmouthshire County Council and Newport City Council, takes in Usk and Raglan and is operated by T Ward. The new timetable will be available on Monmouthshire's website or from local bus stations.

Richard Cope, Monmouthshire County Council's Passenger Transport Unit Manager, said: "We hope that people who use the service will be happy to see more buses running and the improved service will encourage people to use public transport more often."

The No 60 Sunday bus service remains unchanged
