Capture the Heart and Soul of Wales and win fabulous prizes

2010 marks the 15th anniversary of the National Cycle Network. As part of the celebrations, Sustrans, along with The Valleys Heart and Soul campaign, is inviting people to take part in a photography and short film competition for the gorgeous South Wales Valleys.

Capture your unique experiences on the National Cycle Network in The Valleys on camera or film within the themes of 'people, places or wildlife' to take part.

Not only do people have the opportunity to explore the hidden gems of the South Wales Valleys using our fantastic network of traffic-free walking and cycling paths that travel through some of the most beautiful landscapes and historic landmarks in Britain, there are also some fabulous prizes up for grabs:

  • A Saddle Skeddadle cycling holiday for 2
  • A four night stay for up to 10 people at Windways Neuadd Afan (a 4* luxury self catering accommodation in the Afan Valley)
  • £200 gift vouchers for Valleys bike shops Dare Valleys Cycles and the Bicycle Doctor
  • A day on set with up and coming Welsh film Director Ryan Andrews
  • A 20" by 30" framed canvas wrap wall print of a photo of your choice from Colour labs in Caerphilly
  • A Portrait studio session from Derek G Lewis

Winning photographs and short films will also be exhibited at this year's National Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale. David Hurn, one of Wales' most esteemed photographers, and up and coming Welsh film director Ryan Andrews will be leading the judging panels.

The Sights, Camera, Action competition is open to everyone. It's about enjoying the network and having fun, so regardless of age, experience or camera quality, we want people to get involved, and most of all discover, enjoy and celebrate the wonderful network of traffic-free walking and cycling paths across The Valleys.
